The last GdA marked a turning point in our relationship with a parts manufacturer:
for months we had been experiencing “misunderstandings” regarding the manufacture and quality of our orders.
It wasn’t pleasant for anyone and it cost us a lot of time and nerves: to us and to you.
So we did what we know how to do: we rolled up our sleeves and looked for other ways.

We looked around, ordered several parts at our own expense to check the quality offered by the various candidates,
and tested not only the quality of the parts, but also communication with the new partners.

Now, after several months of work behind the scenes, we can announce that we have solved the problem!
We have a reliable alternative that meets our expectations in terms of quality and final prices
and offers the possibility, often requested and unfortunately denied by us, of anodized parts!

Yes:
from now on, you can order our wonderful products in black anodized as well as aluminum color!

But, for time being the parts for the ADV Tower will still be only sandblasted, as usual.

We have been observing the situation and changes for months now, hoping for improvements, or at least some stability. Unfortunately, we see neither, and so we must announce that

we can no longer organize purchasing groups for the U.S.A.

Declaring shipments as “gifts valued at less than $100” is not only problematic in the event that the package is lost, in which case the insurance would only cover those $100, but also for me personally: as the sender, I am personally identifiable and liable if the package and its contents are inspected;

and it is not even certain that it will remain viable, with the risk of causing the costs of the buying group to skyrocket while it is taking place!

The official alternative, on the other hand, is unsustainable: due to the prescribed size of the package, each shipment would have to be “up to 5 kg,” which means €96/$110; to which customs duties must be added: +50% on the actual and declared value of the contents.

These three factors together make the whole thing simply unfeasible and incompatible with our basic idea: to provide us all with the best accessories at the best price.

We are very sorry and will continue to monitor the situation while remaining open to alternatives, but we can no longer accept participants with a delivery address in the U.S.A.

Maybe one day will America be “great again”, but at the time they’ll be poorer of our ideas and products.

But the adventure doesn’t end there:
we enjoyed designing, building, testing, and using it… and we wanted to further develop the concept:

what if we used aluminum instead of carbon?
How could we make it without welding?
What would we need to change … and what could we reuse?

We are finding out in the coming weeks: stay tuned!

We have some request, so, we start now collecting interest for the following parts:

1) Front Rack kit (and single parts):
we have already requests, so probably there will be a group;

2) Device Holder:
we have only few request, so li’ll unsure if there will be a group;

3) Sideracks and Rear Racks

4) Handles

5) Then we have our beautiful ADV Tower;
we have just re-done all the quotations, including the changes we have made, the prototypes, and other stuff:

I guess many will be happy to know that, with the minimum number, the cost will be lower!

A bit disappointing for all those who just bought the Tower, so we decided to offer them the revised Device Holder, which now has four positions, for a
very low cost.
So to those who bought our Tower: send us a mail if you want the updated Device Holder!

If you want to join one of these groups: just send us a mail and paypal the postage in advance, so we will add you to the list!

The plan is to wait about 3 weeks, then order the parts.

Hi everyone!
Now it’s time for holidays, so let’s relax and start again at the end of the August.

But, there wil be a change.

As you may have read, in every group we have had few persons that just don’t care about rules and have no respect for us, for what we do and for all others joining our buying groups.

As you know, we do this in our free time, when our regular jobs and families allow that. And that’s totally fine. But we waste more or less 60% of this time to handle the persones above, and that’s not fine. So, starting from the next group, we will have a new simple rule: are you interested in some of our product, and want to join the dedicated group? Good, then if you want to be added to the waiting list you have to paypal the shipping costs (17, 27 or 48€ pending on where you live), to show your committment. When there will be a group of course you won’t pay again. If you step back after the group started, you will loose it. And you can say thank you to all those that in these months have wasted our time and our money, and tried to jeopardize the buying groups for all the others.
In more or less 18 months we have had 16 groups, so the waiting time is not that long, pending of course on the item you are interested in.

Sorry guys, we don’t like this, but enough is enough.

It has been so long since we have been in touch that one would think we had disappeared. Wrong! We have been working behind the scenes to organize an incredible, and complex, buying group!
This, dear ones, is our ADV Tower!

We have been counting, dividing, packing, milling, soldering, riveting for days, and now we are ready to pack and ship:
our wait is at an end!

Few months since our last sign of life, almost ashamed!
But only “almost», as we have been working quietly:

two buy groups have been concluded with many happy owners of our unique gadgets,
and our four Towers are being put to the test with seriousness and determination … and a little naughtiness!

While Giamaica moves essentially on white roads … sometimes snow … Fedro does his best to put it to the test with urban enduro sessions and runs, complete with good falls, in the woods.
But the toughest tests are faced in Italy:
Alessandro (btw: thanks for the fotos!!) is off-the-road again, and if that was not enough, Mirko has already taken it to the first Rally event (Rally del Garda ), he managed to do quite a few damages to the bike but not to the Tower … And he will soon try again with another event, «Sterrare è Umano»!

So far, no structural or design weaknesses have shown up, and some modifications have been made that make it even more pleasant and functional … and lightweight!
If this continues, those who have expressed interest may receive an email as early as the end of the month!

It is useless:
even after three prototypes, their assembly tests, and the changes these indicated, going to install what we believed to be the final tower in addition to the successes (our “spider” lets itself be installed exactly as planned and desired) something didn’t add up!
We won’t go into details, suffice it to say that the supercazzola squared did not emulsify with the quantum slammer, but it is once again a demonstration of how a few mm in the wrong place can invalidate an entire project …

Problem identified and solved, at least our first test specimen,
parts already in our possession modified, which is why we talk about prototypes and testing 😉 ,
and piece with the new design ordered-which is also likely to look better! – to test its functionality:
all without consistent delays on our schedule!
On the other hand, the assembly instructions (yes: clearly we are preparing them!) are practically complete and by March all our prototypes will have reached the testers and we will move on to phase 2!
